Nathan Frazer & Axiom def. NXT Tag Team Champions Chase U

"The gold will make you do strange things Vic" - Booker T

As fun as Chase U are outside of the ring, Nathan Frazer & Axiom have them beat in the ring. These two are fantastic and I'm glad the gold is back on them. Here's to more Golden Ratios and Phoenix splashes.

Ridge Holland heel turn on the U, who would've guessed! Riley FLEW when Ridge tossed him into those stairs man, damn! Poor Thea Hail was horrified!

Verdict: YEAH!

Zachary Wentz def. Wes Lee

"Put hands on that boy, oh yes!" -Booker T

Zach Wentz can go man, what a fun match. We all know Wes is great in the ring too, this led to one hell of a match. Although at a couple points things seemed a little stilted early, this match ended up being absolutely fantastic. Wes Lee yeeting himself over the stairs was hilarious. That ending sequence was nuts, Canadian Destroyers look so nasty especially when sold as well as Wes did.

Verdict: YEAH!

NXT Women's North American Champion Kelani Jordan def. Wendy Choo

"Talking about the nightmares! I love it man!" -Booker T

There's nothing inherently bad about Kelani, in fact she's quite good in the ring, but she just doesn't have what the kids are calling aura. Other than the split-legged moonsault, she just kind of feels a little, blah.

The best part of this match was Tatum Paxley being a slithery weirdo and choking out Wendy after the bell rang.

Verdict: Meh

NXT North American Champion Oba Femi def. Tony D'Angelo

"No bread, no water, just MEEEEEEEEEEAT" -Booker T

Nobody has given Oba this much trouble. Tony is a real powerhouse and if anyone was going to beat Oba, I wouldn't have minded if it was Tony. However, Oba is a damn terminator level threat to the WWE universe. This man is the next big Lesnar-esque character. Yes, Bron Breakker is also a beast, but not quite like this. Oba is going to do big, BIG things.

Verdict: YEAH!

NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez def. Jaida Parker

"It's called bending the rules, not breaking them, Vic" -Booker T

Roxanne may be on the smaller side, but she is venomous out there. The boot to the back on the stairs spot was pretty gnarly. This one was a little on the long side, but still a good watch. Jaida Parker looks like she has what it takes to stick.

And would you look at that, the person who will be beating Roxanne has arrived. Giulia is here!

Verdict: YEAH!

Joe Hendry def. NXT Champion Ethan Page with Trick Williams as Special Guest Referee

"OH BABY! OH BABY!"-Booker T

I believe in Joe Hendry!

"All Ego" Ethan Page is a great heel and has been a pretty good addition to the top of the NXT card. Joe Hendry winning the NXT Championship was always improbable at best, but boy was he close. A great main event with a few great special guest referee shenanigans.

P.S. Pete Dunne sucks.

Verdict: YEAH!

Other than a just-okay NXT Women's North American Title match, this was yet another extremely strong NXT PLE. I don't know what it is, but NXT just hits again and again and again.

Overall rating: YEAH!

Side note: the new Bad Blood commercial with Cody holding Metro Boomin' hostage in that car since July shouldn't be as funny as it is.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes def. Kevin Owens

Honestly, this match was just ok. Cody is always pretty enjoyable to watch in the ring and this wasn't really any different. He does need to chill with the endless Cross Rhodes spam. Save the triple Cross Rhodes for the monsters like Roman Reigns, not a babyface KO who doesn't even want to be in this match. The seeds are planted for a KO heel turn if that's the route they want to go.

Verdict: Meh

Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill def. The Unholy Union to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title

There really isn't much to say here. The Unholy Union are one of the few 'true' tag teams around right now and their tag-moves are excellent. Hopefully they keep getting booked and don't disappear for months.

However, they ran into the -EST and Jade Cargill so we all knew where this was going. No tag team is going to beat this duo clean until it's time for them to split and feud for 'Mania.

Verdict: Meh

CM Punk def. Drew McIntyre in a Strap Match

I admittedly don't get the CM Punk love, mostly because I didn't watch any of his prime. However, this feud feels special. Yes, the bracelet stuff is played out at this point, but man these matches have been brutal. Hopefully we get Punk v. McIntyre III at Bad Blood in a Hell in a Cell match.

Verdict: YEAH!

Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley def. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan in a Mixed Tag Team Match

Liv Morgan's move set and cheekiness have made her a real treat to watch out there since her return. Dom is Dom, the nuclear heat for just being himself is still hilarious and the chicken tendy eating fool is good TV. However, Damien Priest and Rhea Ripley are simply too good to lose here. We'll have to wait and see if Rhea can pull off that Riptide on Dom though.

Verdict: YEAH!

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther def. Randy Orton

Gunther is great.

BUT... hear me out. In a world where this wasn't the first title defense of his reign, and the outcome of this one wasn't so glaringly obvious from the get-go, Randy would win. In my own little head canon here, I would want to see Randy get the belt here, lose it to Gunther, then get it back to get to #16 and have him tie Cena and Flair. Then you have Cena feud with Randy one last time and pick up #17 off of him at WrestleMania 41.

Maybe Randy losing here sets him up for that heel turn as he's hungry for gold and he goes after Cody. We all know that program has to happen too, so we'll see, I guess.

Good to see that handshake at the end, Gunther and Randy are both outstanding.

Verdict: Meh... just kidding... YEAH!

The good stuff was really good and overall, this was a pretty enjoyable PLE.

Overall rating: YEAH!

These rankings aren't about who is more talented or any sort of objective metric. This is who I find the most interesting/most fun to watch. Let me know who your favorite superstars are!

NXT

The Top 3

🥇. Oba Femi

🥈. Joe Hendry

🥉. Sol Ruca

Honorable Mentions

4. Trick Williams

5. Ethan Page

RAW

The Top 3

🥇. Drew McIntyre

🥈. Chad Gable

🥉. Liv Morgan

Honorable Mentions

4. Bron Breakker

5. Rhea Ripley

SMACKDOWN

The Top 3

🥇. LA Knight

🥈. Tiffany Stratton

🥉. Cody Rhodes

Honorable Mentions

4. Roman Reigns

5. Jacob Fatu

So, it turns out putting together this list was tougher than I thought it would be! There aren't really any major weak spots on any of the rosters in my opinion. For the most part everyone is pretty enjoyable to watch. That's not to say there aren't some superstars I find a little lackluster cough cough... Bronson Reed, Pure Forehead Collective, Solo Sikoa... cough cough
